FAQ
1. Where do I find everything?
- The pinned post has all of the currently translated material that I’ve posted, sorted and categorized by subject.
2. Can I request a translation?
- Yeah, sure. I might not get around to doing it but you can always try your luck, provided that you give me a video/screenshots of what you want me to translate for anything other than the available base content that even new players can access.
3. Is there anything you won’t translate?
- I probably won’t touch the 2nd floor villa butlers just yet. I don’t have the strongest grasp of their characters yet so I’d like to find my footing with them first before accepting any requests. I also won’t do any event stories that involves all the butlers, thats just too much for me.
4. Why do you take so long to translate?
- This blog is a passion project I am doing in my free time so things will just chug along as life dictates it
5. How do you translate? Do you use any tools?
- I usually post translations done by hand with the help of a dictionary for any terms I’m unfamiliar with. I don’t usually post machine translations but if I do, you will know.
6. How do you decide which stories to translate?
- Interest. Chances are if charaters we like are involved, I’m more motivated to translate. Double bonus if both are there. If its funny or has interactions between butlers that I like, I’ll also take a crack at it (eg. Light Reflected in the Blue Mirror). I’m also much better at listening than reading so if something is voiced, I get them done much faster
7. Can I use your translations for my own use? (eg. writing fic/analysis)
- Sure I don’t really care. My translations take a lot of liberties with the text so its not the most accurate so as long as you keep that in mind and don’t claim its your own work whatever. My only condition is that you never ever under any circumstances, use my translations to train generative AI. If I find out something like that has happened, I will delete all my work
8. I found a mistake in your translation/transcription, is it okay to send you an ask/message about these corrections?
- We don’t mind these sort of messages at all. If you think something could use improvement, be it the kanji, romaji, or even the translations themselves, we are receptive to feedback and appreciate the time that others take to point out anything we might have missed
9. I have a question that isn’t outlined here. What now?
- Tough luck for now, there's on real way to contact someone on neocities so you'll either have to hop back to tumblr or wait for Mimi to figure something out lol
